In a press statement issued here on Friday he said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had ordered to construct three bridges in South Punjab ie Nishtar Ghat Bridge on river Indus, Head Muhammadwala bridge over river Chenab and Eimanwala bridge during his recent two-day visit of Multan.
Awan said that it was our outstanding demand that Multan airport should be upgraded so that wide bodied aircraft and cargo planes could be landed here. He said Multan airport was being upgraded in two phases, one phase has been completed and it would be inaugurated in a couple of months. This project costs Rs 4.57 billion. According to him Prime Minister has announced six low-cost housing schemes in Multan to benefit the poor.
